She's back!

Saturday the vet called and told us that her counts had only dropped from 19,000 to 17,000 but he felt that maybe her being home with us would help her.  He was gambling, as he wasn't sure.  He said he's never had a case like hers (so severe and not responding) so he was going off of what the top "specialists" were telling him.  We were happy to have her go home but she was still not well so we had to be very careful with her and limit the amount we fed her.  She can have nothing but her food which for a dog like her, who loves her 'midnight snack' of treats, is very difficult. This was her after we got her home.  They put a cute bandana on her and she still had a bandage on from her iv.  She was happy to be home.

 The vet called Sunday to make sure she was ok and we had to take her back on Tuesday for more blood work.  We were so nervous for the results.  She seemed to be feeling better so I couldn't imagine her tests being worse but with her you never know.  She hid this illness well for a long time.  The vet came out and told me he was astonished.  Her counts had dropped from 17,000 to 4,000.  She's 'almost' back to normal.  We still have to be careful with her and she's on a restrictive diet still and she'll go back in for another test on Monday.  But every day she gets closer to being completely back to her obnoxious self.  The Queen has returned and she lets us know it.

On a side note.... job interview on Friday with a place in Connecticut.  We don't want to move to Connecticut but we DO want out of this nightmare here.  There is also a possibility in Utah which is the one we want SO terribly bad.   Last we heard from them was they 'might' be calling this week to set up a time for a second interview.   Supposedly as of Monday, he was still top of their list but they had 2 more interviews that day so things can change.  We are trying very hard not to get our hopes up because we've been let down too many times before but man, it should would be nice if something went GOOD for a change with a job.
